Coach Wendy 

Hello, my name is Wendy, and I would like to introduce myself to you. I am a Professional Regional Certified Coach with expertise in coaching all disciplines, including competitive figure skating programs, and teaching people of all ages how to skate, from beginners to hockey programs. My certifications include PowerSkate, Star 1-5, and Star 6-Gold Skill Assessor.

Having immersed myself in the exhilarating world of skating for more than 15 years, my journey has been anything but ordinary. After taking a hiatus, I found my way back to the ice when my daughter began her own skating adventure. This moment not only reignited my passion for the sport but also signaled the start of my coaching career, where I could share my love for skating with aspiring athletes. Alongside my coaching, I embraced the challenge of competing as an adult skater, diving headfirst into the vibrant realm of competition. I take immense pride in being a member of the Team Continuum Synchro Team, where dedication, teamwork, and artistry come together in perfect harmony.

I am the proud owner and head coach of Golden Blades Sk8 Academy Ontario, an esteemed skating academy dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a love for skating. Our academy is strategically located to serve the vibrant communities of Markdale, Flesherton, and Owen Sound. With a comprehensive curriculum that caters to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skaters, we focus on developing both technical skills and artistic expression on the ice. Our experienced coaching staff is committed to providing personalized instruction and support, ensuring every skater reaches their full potential in a positive and encouraging environment.

Coach Aimee is a passionate skater with over a decade of experience gliding across the ice, honing her skills and love for the sport. For several years, she has taken on the role of program assistant in the CanSkate sessions, where her dedication and enthusiasm have inspired countless young skaters. Aimee has successfully completed her CanSkate Trained Coach course, equipping her with the tools to foster the next generation of skaters. We are thrilled to welcome her back as a coach, bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. In addition to her coaching, Aimee is currently pursuing her studies in nursing, demonstrating her commitment to helping others in multiple ways. As an adult skater herself, she brings a unique perspective to her coaching, understanding the challenges and joys of skating at all ages.
